Winesite specialises in study tours to the wine regions of Germany (Carolyn´s long-adopted home). The tours are conducted in English and are aimed at an international audience of wine professionals, eg. sommeliers, retailers, educators and Master of Wine/WSET students.
Each tour is designed to give an in-depth look at the region(s) in question, incorporating the following “building blocks”:

• a special theme, highlighting a particularly exciting aspect of “Wine Country Germany”
• a wide range of estate visits to illustrate what is typical and what is “hot” (includes some of the country´s best names as well as rising stars)
• exclusive vineyard and cellar tours involving detailed discussions with the winemakers
• information on current research projects (eg. at a leading viticultural research centre)
• clear explanation of the labelling regulations, including the VDP concept of terroir
• a special treat (at least one, often more), which can be anything from a gourmet meal to a vertical tasting of fine and rare wines

As we travel in small groups, you can be sure to receive personal attention. Past participants have also welcomed the opportunity to make new business contacts, exchange views with like-minded wine buffs and, as retailers, to find new wines to supplement their range.

In short, it is a wonderful way to get to know key figures in German wine and to learn about the subject from insiders while travelling around some of the most spectacular winescapes in the world.
